As a young lawyer working in the insurance industry, Jane became aware of the huge financial challenges faced by people with disabilities and saw many facing a lifetime of financial struggle.
Putting her promising legal career on hold, Jane chose to spend a year in the U.S. understanding the settlement practices and processes there.
On her return, Jane formed and led a group of organisations and individuals to try to change the Australian tax law to improve outcomes for injured people. Six years spent building a conversation with Governments and industry resulted in a win, with a change to legislation passed in 2002.
Jane then formed a view that she could best help by working directly with injured people and their lawyers at the time of settlement. Jane started the lengthy process of becoming qualified and experienced in providing financial advice, achieving the highest level, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, in 2009.
Even now, as a leader within a busy and growing financial services business, Jane makes time to contribute to the personal injury community, speaking publicly on issues affecting injured people, contributing to industry forums and engaging with Governments.
